[review] ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE BY BENJAMIN ALIRE SÁENZ

Book: Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
Author: Benjamin Alire Sáenz
Rating:

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

Ah, this book people! Its made of all things lovely.

You think this its a book about growing up? it might be.
You think this its a book about two boys finding love? It might be that also.
It might be about family, acceptance, friendship...
But in its core this is a book about love in its truest form - innocent, honest, tender...

Its written entirely in Ari's POV but you don't feel like he is the only character of the story. You can also feel Dante's presence even when he is not part of the story.
Their families, his and Dante's, play big role in their lives and i love that they are not left out of the plot.
The boys grow through the book from teens to young adults and its so beautifully captured, you experience it alongside them.
Everything Its written with such a heart that you can not do anything except love it.

I can't say more about this book because it would be useless incoherent gushing.
You just need to know two things:
  • its wonderful
  • you have to read it.

It is so beautiful people, you have to experience this.
Please read it.
